Intermediate dobro lesson

Ending a Solo on Dobro

In this lesson Mark teaches a bluesy, swampy lick for ending a solo, played mostly on the third string, and shows how it ties together with another lick.

What you'll learn

Step by step

  1. On the third string, go from the second fret to the third fret and back to the second, twice.
  2. Back to the second fret, then the open third string.
  3. Move to the fourth string and finish back on the third string, the G string.

In Mark's words

“Here's a cool little ending to a solo. It's kind of bluesy, a little swampy.”
“Now we're rolling. We're making solos practically.”
